The purpose of the PIER project is to demonstrate the importance of developing trusting and supportive relationships within an interprofessional health care environment in order to encourage and sustain a stron
g and respectful culture. This will ensure quality learning environments for students in the health professions, which will ultimately lead to high quality patient care.
PIER is a demonstration project funded by Health Canada and led by an interprofessional team of health care professionals from Master University Faculty of Health Sciences. Participants in the study are from the McMaster Family Practice, Regina Gardens and Stonechurch Family Health Centre in Hamilton, Ontario.
